On May 17th of 1941, a twin engine military plane wrecked six miles north of Nelsonville, Ohio during a storm with gale-force winds and torrential rain. All 5 men aboard the plane died in the crash. With the US standing on the threshold of World War II, there was some mystery surrounding the reason for the flight during such dangerous conditions.
Since the wreck of the plane, locals have reported hearing screams and wails in the valley where the crash occurred, now called Airplane Hollow.
